The origin of Timex watches

Timex was founded in 1854 as part of the Waterbury Watch Company, after which a popular watch from the current collection is named. The brand is known for its good quality watches for an affordable price.

During World War II, Waterbury produced precision movements used in US Army detonators. The company received an award for this work, after which the shareholders decided to name the company the United States Time Corporation.

In the 1950s the company was renamed Timex, the name under which they still operate today. In the late 1950s, one in three watches sold in the US was a Timex watch. Every American still knows the slogan from the 60s: 'It takes a licking and keeps on ticking'. In 1992, Timex introduced the first watch with an electroluminescent (backlight) dial. This Indiglo® system is present on almost all Timex watches today.

Timex watch collection

The Timex watch collection is very broad; From trendy women's watches to cool outdoor watches in the Expedition line. In addition, Timex has a large collection called Originals that forms the core of the Timex collection as a whole.

Ironman sports watches

The Ironman sports watches from Timex are world famous, and rightly so. They are sturdy, waterproof watches that contain all the functions runners need.

Retro watches

The T80 series consists of retro-style digital watches in contemporary colours and with modern prints. The Timex Q series also has an unmistakable retro vibe. Based on vintage originals from the sixties and seventies, updated to this time through different case shapes, sizes and trendy colours.

IQ Bluetooth connected watches

Connect your Timex IQ watch to your smartphone via Bluetooth to view and analyze the data collected by the activity tracker.

Timex X

Timex regularly releases collaborative watches under the name Timex X. Recent collaborations with the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York and Peanuts are very popular.
