Movado watches

Movado watches

Movado watches can be recognized by the striking dot at 12 o'clock. This dot symbolizes the sun at noon and the hands represent the movement of the earth. This 'museum dial' design forms the basis of the Movado watch collection with minimalist Swiss watches for ladies and gentlemen who love quality and design.

Design as a basis: the Movado Museum watch

Since the establishment of the company in 1881, Movado has always strived to develop watches that stand the test of time. The sleek, modernist look is based on the principles of the Bauhaus movement. The striking design with the dot was developed in 1947 by American artist Nathan George Horwitt. His design became the first watch design ever to be selected for the Museum of Modern Art collection in New York. This made it the basis for the current Movado watch collection and is therefore still called 'Museum dial'.

Extraordinary Movado watches: Collaborations with artists

Over the years, Movado has collaborated with various artists. Among others, Andy Warhol has designed a now legendary 'artist series' of limited edition watches for Movado. It is therefore no surprise that Movado watches are included in the collections of many museums around the world. In addition, the world-famous Jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis is an ambassador for the brand.
