Swiss watches by Maurice Lacroix Maurice

Lacroix is a luxury Swiss Made watch brand based in the canton of Jura. To produce the mechanical watches, Maurice Lacroix uses their own in-house produced movements (manufacture Horlogerie) or contemporary calibers, all made in Switzerland. Each of these movements has been carefully optimized to meet the standards of the long tradition of Swiss watchmaking. A lovingly applied finish contributes to the character of the watches. With this attention to detail and the pursuit of perfection, the extraordinary Maurice Lacroix watches are born.

The history of Maurice Lacroix watches

Maurice Lacroix started as part of Desco von Schulthess from Zurich, founded in 1889. Desco traded in luxury silk scarves and ties. Later - in 1949 - the company became a representative for luxury watch brands including Audemars Piguet, Heuer, Eterna, and Jaeger-LeCoultre. In 1961, Desco acquired an assembly factory in Saignelégier, Switzerland, where it began producing private label watches. The first watch model under the name of Maurice Lacroix came onto the market in 1975.

In-house production of watch cases

In 1980, Maurice Lacroix stopped producing watches for third parties and concentrated on the production of their own brand watches. The acquisition of the case manufacturer Queloz SA, also located in Saignelégier, gave the company the opportunity to produce watch cases in-house. This makes Maurice Lacroix unique compared to other luxury watch brands.

Since the 1990s, Maurice Lacroix has specialized in developing additional functions (complications) for mechanical watches such as retrograde displays, innovative chronographs and moon phase indicators.

Produced with the best materials and components

Maurice Lacroix watches are manufactured to the highest standards. All watches are made in Switzerland and equipped with Swiss ETA, Sellita (automatic) and Ronda (quartz) movements. All watches have anti-reflective sapphire glass. Diamonds used are classified at least VVS1.
