The LIP Himalaya watch is the first ever watch to to be worn at an altitude of over 8.000 m. The watch was worn by French mountaineers Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal reached the summit of Annapurna in 1950. Five years later, wearing the same watch, Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy set a new record, making the ascent to the 5th highest peak in the world at an altitude of 8,485 m. The current Himalaya wtches are based on the 1950 design and available with different complications and in different styles, such as chronograph, automatic with open heart dial and quartz.
