The influence of Pierre Balmain

The fashion house Balmain was founded in 1945 by Pierre Balmain. His style was daring for the austere post-war era with a super-feminine silhouette and richly embroidered luxurious fabrics. Because of this, the Parisian fashion house quickly became a favourite of both European and Hollywood royalty.
