Casio Edifice watches: inspired by sports cars

Casio introduced the ECB S100 line not long ago. A sleek quartet of watches that you can connect to your smartphone. These watches possess a winning combination of digital and analogue. The S100 line consists of four watches, each with subtle differences. In this article we discuss what makes these watches so special and why they deserve a place in your collection.
Inspired by sports cars
At the heart of the ECB-S100 design is the grille. A grille often looks very beautiful on sports cars, but it also has a function - it directs air to the engine to prevent overheating. The shape of the grille is clearly reflected in the dial. The dial construction where the metal braid and the X-shaped metal part come together gives the watch a truly mechanical look. The dial is illuminated by a high-brightness LED. It is especially nice during nighttime cruising when the interior of your car is dimly lit.
Casio made a statement that these watches, like competitive cars, possess both speed and efficiency. The watches are the result of a considerable amount of craftsmanship and modern technology. If flashy sports cars make your heart beat faster, the ECB-S100 line is tailor-made for you. Not too excited about racing cars? We bet the new Casio Edifice watches will make your heart skip a beat nonetheless.
There are four watches to choose from with identical features and materials. The dial is (almost) the same and the case has sapphire glass. However, they are not all the same in terms of appearance. For example, the ECB-S100HG-1AEF is the flagship model owing to a unique phenomenon that can be observed when the titanium tailpipe gets hot, which is incorporated in the dial. It shifts from blue to red and gives the watch a unique look. This model will be in stock soon. Click here to add it to your wish list.
Made possible by the sun
What makes these watches so desirable is the state-of-the-art solar technology. One of the new features that Casio implemented is the reduction of the solar reception area in the dial. It's 45% smaller than in the ECB S100's predecessor, the ECB-900. This allows more space for the design of the dial, while maintaining its stability and strength.
Another great feature is that you can charge the battery of the watch even in dim light sources, such as fluorescent lamps. That way, you'll never run out of power, even when you're using the intensive functions that we'll cover in more detail later in this article.
